You people are scarin' me. How do you remember all that stuff? I'm in Lincoln, having babies, making jewelry, and studying to become a teacher. I walked into class one day, ready to introduce myself to my new instructor. It was Blade! I want to be just like him when I grow up!

I happened upon the website and my first thought was "could this be the same Brickyard in Lincoln? No- it couldn't be!" What a great idea. Though I left Lincoln a long time ago, the Brickyard is one of the few places I miss. I am sorry to hear about Jake Ryan. I remember a Speech class that we took together at Irving Jr. High (that goes way back) and we would come up with different color schemes for his hair spikes during class. He was an original.

Wow, what memories! Some of the greatest times of my life no doubt. And I even made it into one of the pictures! (BrickYard_Bernie.htm, stupid lookin punk on the left).

Many of my brickyard daze were spent with Raefe Griffen, RIP. I'm going to scrape some photos out of storage and scan 'em for the site. I've also got some good shots of Tony too.

I'm back in Lincoln (since July 2000) after spending 8 years in N. California.

Holy cow, what an awesome site! It is so cool reading peoples impressions and memories of the salad days. I too have not spoke with several friends that I used to escape to the Brickyard with, however I've been fortunate to keep in contact with a few. Here's to you Wubbles, Westie, Woody and Dedbone! Polick if you are out there give us a shout. Last I heard you were travelling somewhere in Mongolia?

I'm currently living in the UK (just outside of London) and have been married to my lil' english lady for over three years. If she could have seen me then! Love it here, the music scene is great and I would change things for the world.

However, it is cool seeing these old photos. I know I've got some photos of the Faction somewhere. Recently my wife and I were cleaning the garage and uncovered all my old Thrasher magazines and I showed her the article on the midwest medley...sadly it was lost on her. We did find some great photos over at Flowerday's of Bernie Mc and Bill Miller getting some 'air'. I'll see if I can dig 'em out and scan them.

Anywho, 'cheers' to your site and the memories of seeing JFA, the Faction, PSW, DRI and Baby Hotline at the Brickyard. Does anyone have any recording of Baby Hotline? I would love to get a copy! Lastly, thank to Brian Bennet for telling me about this site. Also 'hello' mr Pat Wilkins.....Miller Genuine Draft man! Ciao

Daniel Kelley-

I met you with Jeff Randall at your brother's house last year. Jeff wanted me to let you know that although you're pretty cool, he's WAY cooler! Jeff says "Hey to Scott Wade, Daniel & Brian Kelley, Eric Peterson, Russell and Jake and Steve."

I'm in the UK now (right around the corner from my brother) and loving the music scene here. Thanks to guys like Jeff and my big brother who have opened my eyes (and continue to do so) to the cool shit that's out there.

Thanks Kevin Erickson for alerting me to this site. it's great to see so many photos that captured a moment in time, and to see what alot of you are up to today. The scene was real, the music was real, the people were real. That's what it was all about. The kiddies today don't know what they missed. I don't think there was a better place to see JFA, The Faction, Baby Hotline, PSW, For Against, Playground...etc. As Retro and I have discussed before, once you catch on to the music, it stays with you...Hi to Scott Wade, Retro, Westie, Dedbone, Anne Erickson, Tiffany, Mandy, and Dewey. Kim says Hello. Matt Walters, where are you???

"...A sad fact widely known, the most passionate song to a lonely soul is so easily outgrown. But don't forget the songs that made you smile, and the songs that made you cry. Yes, you're older now, and you're a clever swine, but they were the only ones who ever stood by you..."

Cool to see this site - can't wait to send in some of my photos from the old days. Yeah, I was the one blinding all of you! I moved away from Lincoln in Feb '86 - moved to Santa Barbara, where I met my wife. We moved to New Mexico in '92 and live in a small village up in the mountains (1/2 hour north of Santa Fe). We have two daugters (soon to be 3 and 6). I still make it back to Lincoln every now and again, but it never seems like there's enough time there. Still skate, and Santa Fe and Albuquerque have killer parks!
