First of all, thank you Mindy for providing an unexpected opportunity to visit the past. Apparently this site has been up for quite a while, but this is the first I've stumbled upon it. Best Brickyard memory: jumping onto the ladder of a train moving down the tracks out back. Can't say I've ever done that again! Basically left Lincoln in 85 and lived in Columbus,OH until last year. Worked as a carpenter most of that time, then went back to school recently and got a BFA. Right now I'm living in Virginia, very happily married, writing for children's textbooks and creating art. Some of it can be seen here: www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/t/tyrrell Not sure how often people come back to check out this site, but I would love to hear from people who knew me back in the day.

I check out this site every so often, and it never fails to get me thinking about all the people who have been e-mailing, or have been mentioned, that had so much influence on my life. Whether it's burnt carpets(Ron Dude), or shed slumber(Rugged) or friends that are sorely missed(all), thanks for making me sound like a sap. Punk Rock changed my life, so did you all! You know who you are! Jason P.S. I'm not sure I ever met you Mindy, but this is a damned cool site!

Whoa! Lotsa more folks on this here internet site then when last I checked. Just wanted to update my whereabouts in hopes that maybe somebody from the Brickyard era might stop by. I moved to Salt Lake City (a.k.a. Mormontown). I got a job regulating coal mines for the government. Seriously. At any rate, if anybody ever comes out here snowboarding/skiing.. .whatever. ..look me up. Shoot me an e-mail or whatever. Hey Ronnie. . .I saw the same Motorhead/COC/Zeke show a couple months back. It was loads of fun. I hadn't seen COC since the Brickyard oddly enough. I was skeptical going into it, but they were suprisingly good. Zeke rips. If you don't know who they are, go get 'em. Definitely old schoolish hard-core thing goin on there. 'Course Motorhead is Motorhead. I'm glad Lemmy didn't decide to drop dead the night I saw him. By the way, Rusty Meyer is but one surgery away from becoming Rustina Meyer. He was an o.k. .lookin guy, but he'll make one helluva hot chick. We're all happy for him. He couldn't wait to get those pods off. Perhaps now he'll be at peace with himself. RIP Jay. 'Nough said. Slayer, Steve

What a rush of insane memories... I can't believe no one put up photos from that incredible Suicidal Tendencies show, or the time the MDC show got shut down and the band took their instruments and played as we followed them down the block and the drummer beat his sticks on the sidewalk. I am a sportswriter in New York now, and I have two little girls. I have some scary Mike Coleman shots, but it looks like I'm a little late to the party. It's been a long time since I was in Lincoln, I was back for the LHS 10 year reunion in '99, but few of you were.

...and i thought I was the only one who slowed to ponder at the corner. Mindy, your a doll for puting this together. As a teacher I find myself telling stories(edited stories)of what it was like back then, the kids usually don't beleive me 'cause "it's too cool, or too original" to be true . Yep, quite the culture thriving here for a while. Good to see so many of you are alive and kicking. Time to spin a few.

First off, thanks for this bit of history. Been a long time gone since those days, but I still remember them fondly. Thanks to Cary D. for the tip off. As for me, the massive flop is no more, but the guy under the hair is still around. Joined the Air Force after four years of record store hijinks. Saw all of the garden spots (real and unreal) the military sends u to and got out after 4 in. Spent a couple more years in Lincoln kicking around then moved to Fort Collins, Colorado. Work at Hewlett Packard, ski as many days as my knees and cashflow will allow for, get lost in the backcountry on a whim and generally try to see the west the way Lewis and Clark would have done. Never married, but working on it. Cheers.

Hey, everyone! My aunt Mindy, the creator of this site just showed me this piece of history tonight and just by her showing this to me, it has filled in so many missing answers to my questions of the way I am turning out as a young woman. I love my aunt and just by looking at all the pictures of her and everyone at Brick Yard Daze, I could tell you guys really loved that place... I only wished I could have been born sooner to see just a day of that place. Bye, everyone! Love, Melinda K. Reynolds' niece, Megan M. Reynolds

Great site. It's great to read about what all the kids from back in the day are up to now. I remember so many stories when I sift through the names and pics that I don't even know where to start. It was really a great time and this site confirms that my feelings about it were not unique. I am living in the desert in AZ these days. I am still listening to the music that brought us together. But I guess it wasn't just the music, it was also the tall boys, Skateboards and a crew of great people that made the scene great. Later, Mele

Hey Mindy,
I've been meanin' to check out your site for a long time now, and I finally did! Wow! There are so many faces that I remember, and names I either never knew or have forgotten. Lots of good memories.
I also looked at the RIP page, and I must admit that your memory of Duran as having a quiet demeanor isn't exactly how I remember him - he always had an opinion about something and was not afraid to let you know it. When Bill lived on K St (no longer standing) I remember one of many parties where the big joke was "Duranimals" from the line at Sears or something called "Garanimals" that had matching tags, so you couldn't screw up and wear mis-matched clothes (God forbid!)
Anyway, I'm still here in Lincoln, I have been an RN for 10 yrs now, and I work Labor and Delivery at BryanLGH. I am divorced with no children, and living with my current love. All is well here, and I really appreciate your time and creativity in this site- it's kick fuckin' ass!
Rock On, Sister!
